On Sunday, April 28, 2013, a large number of community-minded folks came together at the Pink Palace to show loving support for our own Mr. San Diego Eagle 2011 Kane. Kane will be representing San Diego on the stage in Chicago at the International Mr. Leather 2013 Contest on May 24-27.
This event was a fundraiser to help him with his travel expenses. It is also an annual tradition that brings out the very best folks, many of whom are retired from the public eye, and only come out for this event.
Gary got the food donated, delivered and laid out!
A LARGE team of dedicated volunteers worked for weeks beforehand, getting every detail right for the big day. Thanks to their efforts, the attendees could show up, relax and enjoy:
After a while, it was time for Mr. San Diego Leather 2011 Kurt to to get everybody's attention. He introduced Kane to the crowd for a warm and heartfelt speech. They are visible on the far right in the picture above this.
Kane is a well-loved ambassador for our community, and he deserves all of the love and funds that he received that day.
Then, it was time for the annual Group Photo. Kane was surrounded by love supplied by people whose love means a LOT. Once again, San Diego's community showed what we are best at.
